I agree that legends are stories based on truth from the ancient days of valor and virtue. And I know that stories can change over time becoming, possibly, eccentric. Thus, I believe that dragons did exist. I also believe that different species of dragons existed. Just as there different types of lizards from the iguana to the kimono dragon. Evolution is a miraculous thing...almost as miraculous as the similarities in fairy tales that are told by nations separated by seas.

Everything! I love music too much to be picky, as long as its not poorly composed!

I think it depends on two things. The anime: being the quality, genre, and content; and the voice actors.

English dubbed has its better points. I can pay more attention to the artwork and action that is happening, rather than be focused on reading the script at the bottom of the scene. And its in my language so its easier and I am able to comprehend it faster when there is a lot happening.

Japanes is always the original. The way the director intended the lines to be delivered and the script the author wrote. Plus you never miss the meaning of the story or a special peice of info that develops the characters. Which is sometimes overlooked in English dubbed when they try to match up the voice and the lips.

So although I preffer Japanese language with English subtitles, I always watch the movie or series in both (if I own it)! Cuz its anime and anime is amazing! XD

I mean look at Cowboy Beebop or Spirited Away, both of those anime's had very good English voice acting! ...and Yes, the Japanes was also amazing!

Okay listen to this...when i was about 12, I had a dread lock the size of my fist in the back of my head near the nape of my neck. I have really long hair and my brush had broken so i got lazy for a while and didnt brush it.... just ran my fingers though it...but, yeah...always brush long hair all the way through. We ended up having to cut it out. >.< not a fun hair day.

*Appears from the mist that, for some reason, has formed in a corner of the room. Leaps and catches Akrix mid-flip*

"Mind if I offer my assistance?"

*Lands and sets Akrix down beside me. The mist dissapates*

"Akarix is fine, and now...sadly enough for you...[to A-10hybrid who's thoughts are of victory!] ...prepare for a butt whoopin'!"

*the mist forms again*

"And so the fun begins..."

*summons the yetti of the north ane sends it to maul A-10hybrid outside. Akarix and ShinobiHime watch in awed grins. *

[mutters to Akarix] "Why does it smell like poop in here?"

Yo! I just finished watching my Miyazaki Marathon! Dont ask me why, sometimes we all get that craving...you know, to suddenly listen to our favorite music, to watch our favorite anime or...to have a cookie... @_@ chocolate chip....

But... for me, I wanted to watch the Miyazaki films! YAY Marathon! Anyway, as I was watching and I was thinking about my favorite one...Spirited away and the close second Howl's Moving Castle! (Howl is a hottie!) and I was wondering which is your favorite?

Here is a list if you forget any of them...and if I have forgotten one go ahead and list it!

My Neighbor Totoro
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
Princess Mononoke (Mononoke Hime)
Porco Rosso
Spirited Away
The Cat Returns
Kiki's Deliery Service
Castle in the Sky
Howl's Moving Castle

And I'm not so sure these are Miyazaki films. I think they might be Isao Takahata films in association with Studio Ghibli:
Pom Poko
Whisper of the Heart
My neighors the Yamadas

Like I said, If I messed anything up in my listing, go ahead and say so...fix it for me...onegai ^_^' Well just wondering what you thought....List Your favorites...GO!

Matane!

Well, all I can offer is my advice and support! Guitar Rocks!

I used to play when I was little. My entire family is really into music so naturally my dad plays guitar and naturally I wanted to play too! :)

I played for a while but got frustrated with it and slowly stopped playing...big mistake! *Snap* I wish I could still play.

*sigh* I have been in an winds orchestra now for 4 years (playing clairinet) and and we have random guitar parts, so when everyone is warming up or just feels like playin, we jam toggether, I know what you're thinking, how can you jam on a clairinet? Well FYI I play Jazz too! (You should hear us play a line from bebob! XD ) NE way, bottom line, dont get too frustrated with it and keep it up...

Also...guys think a girl who can play guitar is hot! XD *thumbs up* (and vice versa) ^_^'

f

I think thats a pretty good explanation of it cowgirlbebop. XD

Globalization, lessee:

I believe that in order to keep the businesses of our world economically stable, they (the businesses) should support the economy.

Also, to understand globalization, one must understand that the world is not the same all the way around. There are different cultures everywhere, and within those cultures are people with differnt views, tastes, and opinions. So when a buisiness chooses to "globalize", they are just taking the culture of that particular region into consideration and espousing, or backing, it. Becuase, if you take your example, cowgirlbebop, if a McDonalds did not sell sushi in Japan, that is one less thing it could make money on. Because McDonalds knows that people in Japan like sushi, it would be a waste to not sell it where it is in such high demand. So I suppose its just another ploy for the businesses to get more money as long as the costomer is also getting what they want, which is, what buisiness is all about. I hope that helps! :)

Wha?! x_x like...Monopoly?!? *confused*

f

Yo! XD Welcome to MT!

DBZ will never loose the place it dug out in my heart! Though it wasn't the first anime I ever watched, it is definetly one of the first few that hooked me for good! ;) Its sweet that you're into music. Music is another passion in my life...besides anime...and acting..and drawing...and singing...and... :hmpf: ...I have a lot of passions ^_^'

Well its cool to meet you! *clicks to add friend* Hope to see more of ya 'round the forums! :hmpf:

f

Read the Chrno Crusade manga! Its so good and much better than the anime. Dont get me wrong, the anime is still amazing but the story in the manga I think is better. The anime and the manga are so different its like reading/watching a completely different story with the same characters.

f

Hello everyone! (who also like anime and games) XD ,

I wanted to introduce myself into the forum...I am 19 years of age and still love anime XD ...I consider myself one of the original anime lovers, since I grew up watching it with my dad (Astro Boy)when it was begining to be released into the US. After Voltron and Sailor Moon hit I dont think I ever looked back!

I am a total finatic when it comes to art and love to support anyone who is willing to put there skills up for critique! :) I am an artist myself however me and the computer programs for drawing dont mesh too well. I wish I knew how to work one of those programs or even knew which program to have... o_0 ...

But all you artist get a big "kudos" from me! And if anyone can lend me a hand up into the realm of Miniotokyo I would love to have it!

I may love anime...but I am a totally n00b when it comes to this stuff!

f

I have been a fan of music my whole life! Music is an international language if you think about it! You dont have to understand the language the song is sung in to dance to it, enjoy it, or just listen to it. Music means differnet things to different people...and if you really wanna know what the singer is saying, look it up just like you said.

Just look at the theme song to Ghost in the Shell. The words are all in Russian but its the theme to a Japanese anime that is viewed by people who speak English (or other languages) But we still enjoy it! [and wow her voice is awesome!]

f

Yeah, I would like to know more also...

I am new here too so I am fairly freindless myself....sorry to invade on your poll... ^_^' ...but where should I introduce myself...here? Or when I add someones artwork to my fav. section? (oh man the art is amazing!) Its so fun to meet others with the same interests as me, :hmpf: most of my friends tell me anime is only a dumb kids cartoon... OX ... :nya: but we all know its better than that...even though cartoons rule! XD But I was just wonderin' cuz I dont wanna do something wrong... ^_^' which usually happens anyways*shrug* ^_^'

And Oh man! These smilies are addicting..they are so cool! :D

Back to you...I will totally be your friend

f

*deep breath* Yosh! I am drawn to animes that are well balanced in most aspects of storytelling. An anime that posesess Comedy
:D, Action, some Romance, Character flaws, and as always, a good evil villian! XD If the anime lacks a good evil villian, the anime doesnt seem as spectacular when the villians are defeated (or when they win in some cases)! X-O Although, I am a fan of story twists, but I do preffer when the good guys win. As long as the fight was good! aka acurate fighting scenes, unbelievable stunts and blood. The blood I think reminds the viewer of the pain the character is experiencing and helps draw the viewer into believing in the anime at a more realistic level. Plus its cool! XD

I also like when an anime gets right into the story or the action, no wasted time, becasue when an anime takes a while to get started, it isnt as enjoyable to watch unless you force yourself to sit through it. ~_~

And lets not forget animation...if the animation is bad it will effect the story and how the viewers see or relate to the characters as well. *nods*

Quote by MnemethMale or Female cosplay?
Male - try Vash the Stampede from Trigun
Female - how about Naru (Love Hina) or the lead from R.O.D.

Yeah..If male...oh man, Eiri from Gravitation is so hot with his galsses but that would be a very diffucult cosplay to recognise. :\ If you want something more recongnisable maybe General Hughes from FMA. Or Midou Ban from Get backers, he is cool, but i supose those are more like sunglasses...its a possiblity though since he almost always wears them.

Lemeesee...if female...you could totally do Lady Une from Gundam Wing, or maybe Robin from Witch Hunter Robin, her glasses are a certain shape though, :hmpf: so unless you wnted to put some money into it or didnt mind the difference, that is a good one to do. *nods* Fuu from Magic Knight Rayearth is a good one, oh man there are so many...uh...Yomi from Azumanga Daioh or Yomiko Readman from R.O.D. or even Hitomi from Real Bout High School. the last one i can think of is Hikari fom Haibane Renmei. Well thats it off the top of my head. I hope that enough :) Good Luck! I may think of more later! ^_^'
